The Neusiedler Syktyvkar Company, a vertically integrated timber processing enterprise, is a member of the Neusiedler AG Group. Today, the Company owns a pulp and paper production facility and 14 timber processing facilities. The enterprise produces more than 50 types of paper including office, offset and newsprint paper and cardboard. The Company’s products are well known in domestic and foreign markets under both the Company’s brands such as Snegurochka and IQ and the worldwide recognized trademarks.
For the recent years, the Company has been successfully operating the SAP platform based corporate management system including the Sale, Material Management, Production Management, Controlling, Financial Accounting and Staff Management Modules. The technological processes are monitored within the Company with the ASODU System (Automatic Operation and Management Accounting System). The main prerequisite for restructuring of Neusiedler Syktyvkar’s management processes was entering into a leading international production holding company. The chief goal was to gain efficiency of the enterprise management by increasing efficiency and improving quality of the information used in management decision making. This restructuring entailed that the corporate accounting data of the enterprise were to be consolidated in a single source, i.e. the data storage facility. The platform for this facility was the Business Information Warehouse (BW) product of SAP AG Company. IBS was selected to be the product implementation partner.
In the course of the Project, the Information Storage facility was constructed that provides for generation of analytical reports on different aspects of the Company’s activity, including online production process profile and information related to financial results and the Company’s staff.
In the course of the Project, the online production management accounting system was implemented that provides information on status of the stock and limits of the enterprise’s working assets, including the current stock of raw and auxiliary materials and finished products in the Company’s warehouses and the costs related. The source data are collected by the system from two databases. These are the material transaction database of the MM (Material Management) Module of the mySAP Business Suite platform based management system and the ASODU accounting database. It allows for online analysis of the natural and cost parameters of raw and auxiliary materials directly consumed for production of finished goods and semimanufactures. Moreover, the system allows generating different production parameters, such as paper-making machine performance parameters, which fit the requirements of the customer’s method. The financial and economic accounting module has allowed for profound analysis of the Company’s financial results and preparation of obligatory periodic accounting reports. The data source for this module is the Controlling and Financial Accounting Modules database of the mySAP Business Suite platform based management system. Moreover, the financial accounting generation platform has been developed within this module, which conforms to the US GAAP standards.
The staff management accounting module implemented in the course of the Project has allowed for profound analysis of various data on staff status and rotation, including the Staff Rotation, Personnel Absence and Reasons and Wage Fund Accounting issues. The information and analytical system developed in the course the Project is a powerful tool to increase efficiency of the corporate data gathering, processing and analysis. This system also allows analyzing the key performance indicators (KPI).
Further development of the system will include new functionalities for the timber production and logistics and its application for a number of issues related to online company management.
