IBS DATAFORT COMPLETES BUILDING SINGLE-PACKAGE BUSINESS MANAGEMENT SYSTEM BY CERTIFYING INFORMATION SECURITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
IBS DataFort has obtained the ISO/IEC 27001:2005 certification for its information security management system. The international corporation of Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance (LRQA) acted as an independent certification authority.
Earler, in June 2006, IBS DataFort was certified against two standards in one go, to wit ISO 9001:2000 (quality management system) and ISO 20000-1:2005 (IT Service Management System). Thus, IBS DataFort completed its business management package system and made another vital step toward building a model of providing IT services.
IBS DataFort Business Management System integrates the systems of quality management, IT services management, and information security management in a single package, and LRQA has acknowledged it to be among exemplary ones in Europe. A single package means that different management system components are not put together mechanically, rather, they form an interrelated unity, so that human resources, information, equipment and corporate culture are as essential for the system as the documentary policies and procedures.
Although ISO/IEC 27001 certification is voluntary, the managing team of IBS DataFort resolved to go through the procedure by all means, since security and data leakage issues are a critical barrier for Russian customers in their interaction with service providers. The companies which entrust their IT systems to outside contractors are anxious to have their information protected and to see evidence of such security.

ISO/IEC 27001:2005 specifies the requirements for establishing, implementing, operating, monitoring, reviewing, maintaining and improving a documented Information Security Management System. It is used to protect any sort of information, including that on finances, human resources, customers, etc.
