Processes of consolidation and formation of integrated holdings have been going on in the industrial market for the last several years. These processes require industrial enterprises to build up a single management system that would consolidate all information and financial flows and control loops, from basic production lines to the head office.
This challenge is also crucial for attaining the key objectives pursued by industrial enterprises, i.e. the objectives of increasing their investment appeal and competitiveness in foreign and domestic markets through production transparency and improved product quality.
The solution involves (i) building workflow management systems (MES and APCS) and (ii) integrating those systems with local ERP systems into a common information environment that includes all necessary modules: production run-up, planning, cost accounting, quality control and process discipline, maintaining stores of source materials and finished products, logging equipment efficiency and downtime, managing key production personnel, materials use balances and other reports, power consumption metering and functions specific to individual manufacturing facilities.
IBS offers building integrated workflow management systems based on the following solutions:
- Manufacturing Execution System (MES)
Manufacturing Execution Systems provide automation in the fields of identifying efficiency reserves of production processes, optimizing planning, resource use and order filling processes, and output product quality assurance. Workflow management systems gather information from APCS level and other sources, process that information in line with the objectives of the production process, provide production personnel with the required information in the required form and transfer production information to ERP systems, thus enabling a common information environment at production enterprises.
- Enterprise Asset Management systems (EAM)
Enterprise Asset Management systems systems are designed for comprehensive automation of business processes of operation, maintenance and repair of capital assets. These systems provide equipment operation personnel with tools to optimize equipment maintenance and repair processes and also core and auxiliary business processes of assuring reliability and uninterrupted operation of core process equipment.
- Automatic Process Control Systems (APCS)
The task of an APCS is to maintain specified process parameters, ensure observance of operating regulations, and provide operating personnel with all necessary information on the course of production and any deviations detected. In addition, modern APCS systems must provide engineers and technicians with the tools for analyzing the course of processes, for optimizing them, and influencing manufacturing processes.
