2009 Business development
In an unstable economic environment IBS took a number of steps to optimise costs, improve internal processes and achieve greater flexibility in its market position.
Development of the management system was one of the initiatives. 2009 saw completion of the project that developed the in-house corporate financial accounting and logistics system on the SAP ERP platform.
IBS Borlas reorganisation consolidated four subdivisions into the Department of Oracle business applications and technologies, the new subdivision that brought together the entire team of consultants specialising in Oracle products and technologies.
The Department of Services for Educational Institutions was formed within IBS in May. The new subdivision consolidated the IBS industry-specific expertise, resources and all specialised professionals, providing a single point of responsibility and enabling the company to provide services for educational institutions in a more efficient way.
A new line of business – the corporate universities development – was launched within the management consulting segment. The new practice was formed in an effort to further expand the product line and provide solutions for human resources development.
IBS DataFort and OAO Severstal-infocom set up IBS DataFort Cherepovets, the joint venture to provide IT outsourcing and maintenance services for OAO Severstal, the leading Russian metals company.

Achievements and social projects
IDC, the global market research firm, ranked IBS as the IT services market leader for three consecutive years. According to Russia IT Services Competitive Analysis, 2009, the IDC study, IBS was the leader in several foundation markets and ahead of competitors by total IT services revenue.
IBS ranked first among Russia's top consulting companies in 2008 according to Expert RA rating and ranking agency and according to Kommersant-Dengi (Money) magazine.
IBS was among top five companies of the Russian IT market in 2008 according to Kommersant-Dengi (Money) magazine.
IBS and The Managers Association conducted the Russian Business Leaders' Management Initiatives study, which assessed the impact of the crisis on the market for management solutions and determined top Russian companies' level of post-crisis engagement with new management solutions.
In keeping with the tradition of pre New Year trips to children's homes, IBS and the Volunteers Club held a New Year social event for children from Safonovskaya children's home. |
