March 30, 2009. IBS Borlas Technical Support Centre will support Oracle software used by OAO Mosenergo. In the current economic situation the outsourcing IT service provider will help the Moscow energy and utility company to optimise IT costs.
According to Konstantin V. Mozgalev, Head of Technical Support Directorate, OAO Mosenergo, OAO Mosenergo and IBS Borlas Technical Support Centre entered into a one-year contract for the Technical Support Centre to provide extended technical support information and consulting services. IBS Borlas already provides Oracle software support and scheduled operating system maintenance services for 29 of the utility's servers under an outsourcing arrangement.
According to Larisa Melnikova, Technical Director, IBS Borlas Technical Support Centre, the parties agreed upon a service package that includes:

Installation, maintenance and monitoring of existing and new database servers of OAO Mosenergo's data processing centre;

Set-up and support of the physical and logical structures of database servers;

Performance monitoring of server systems and platforms that run database management systems forming the basic infrastructure of OAO Mosenergo's information systems;

Database servers utilisation analysis and optimisation;

Data storage management for the Oracle database management system;

Data backup and recovery for the Oracle database management system.
IBS Borlas Technical Support Centre is also responsible for preparation of reports on utilisation of database server resources, giving timely notice to the management of OAO Mosenergo of any software and hardware upgrades required, and providing suggestions for implementation of the Oracle database management system security and protection concept. Larisa Melnikova specially noted that the services for the utility company are regulated by a service level agreement (SLA) that clearly defines IBS Borlas liability to the customer, primarily as regards service efficiency and quality.
