June 1, 2009. IBS and OAO Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works (OAO MMK) have entered into a Microsoft software licensing agreement to provide the metals company with licenses for all PCs running Microsoft software products.
Maintaining software legality is important for OAO MMK’s business reputation. OAO MMK invited bids to select a license provider and ultimately considered the IBS bid as the most appropriate one. IBS has extensive experience of licensing Microsoft products; its track record includes projects for The Independent Power Distributing Company (NESK), Mechel, Silvinit, Eurasia Drilling Company, Norilsk Nickel, etc.
This will be an Enterprise Agreement Subscription licensing project. Under the agreement licenses for operating systems and office applications, client licenses for access to servers and server licenses will be provided.
Under the Enterprise Agreement Subscription OAO MMK will also be provided with a number of extra Software Assurance services including provision of the most recent versions of Microsoft software products, technical support of server products, etc.
