April 2, 2009. Mosenergosbyt is carrying out a large-scale project to build a state-of-the-art information system for power sales management.
The new billing system is intended to improve the quality of customer service (for individuals and corporate customers). Using the new billing technology for calculating and receiving payments from individuals will subsequently help to cut the time required to deal with customer issues and make credited payments information available faster, while corporate customers will be able to benefit fully from electricity payments automation capabilities.
The new billing system of Mosenergosbyt will be built on the Oracle Utilities Customer Care & Billing platform, the best-of-breed customer care and billing solution for energy and utility companies. The system implementation contract went to IBS Borlas, the IBS company specialising in implementing Oracle business applications and technologies. Among IBS Borlas customers who used the company’s Oracle software implementation services there are major energy and utility companies including the likes of InterRAO UES, Mosenergo, SUEK, Mosvodokanal and others.
Vitaly Kuzmin, Deputy General Director for Technology Support, OAO Mosenergosbyt: “Implementation of the new billing system will help to improve operating efficiency of each employee and across the company and enhance the quality of customer care for each customer. In addition, the new information system will enable us to expand the range of our services and improve the transparency of our business.”
Arkady Karev, Deputy General Director, IBS: “This project will enable Mosenergosbyt, the biggest power sales company, to rise to a new level of business. In the course of the year professionals from both companies will be working together to implement and provide the best configuration of the system to accommodate Mosenergosbyt requirements.”
The new billing system will be commissioned in March 2010.
