Republic of Karelia Arbitration Court to Have Self-Service Information Kiosks Installed for Public Use

November 28, 2007 Expertek IBS won the tender to supply information kiosks for Republic of Karelia Arbitration Court (in Russian). Information kiosks will be installed at arbitration courts throughout the republic to provide the public with reference information, information on court operations and on court documents.

Information kiosks to be installed will offer court visitors easy and quick access to a wide range of information including session schedules, litigation information, court orders and rulings and other official documents.

"Installation of self-service information kiosks is a solution that is very convenient for the public, helping at the same time to reduce the load on court reception areas" commented Alexei Klopotovsky, General Director of Expertek IBS.

Existing information systems of Republic of Karelia Arbitration Court will be used for management and loading of information kiosk content. Later on Expertek IBS is expected to develop a specialized system that will provide centralized management of information kiosks installed in the republic.

Expertek IBS won the contract to supply and subsequently maintain information kiosks based on the results of a tender that also involved two Karelian companies. IBS offered IBM information kiosks, which are efficient, wear-resistant and durable. As the result, the IBS bid was deemed to be the best.

Having won this tender, IBS has good prospects for engagement in further projects evolving from this one because such solutions could be rolled out in other Russian regions as courts find this experience very interesting.
