November 6, 2007 IBS, Russia’s leading player in the IT and consulting market, has completed the technical design of the data processing center of Gazprombank. Hardware and software of the data processing center pilot area, intended for testing and trial operation of components and hardware solutions, have been launched based on solutions produced for this project.
Gazprombank (open joint-stock company), Russia's biggest non-state owned bank and the authorized bank of OAO Gazprom, is among Russia's top three banks by all the main indices. Building a state-of-the-art data processing center is one of the bank's most important development projects.
The data processing center project seeks to

provide information and technology resources for implementation of Gazprombank's strategic objectives that involve gaining and retaining leadership positions in the banking sector;

minimize system-level risks and threats to operations related to functioning of banking automation facilities;

build hardware to enable implementation of state-of-the-art banking information technologies;
-
contribute to increasing the capitalization of Gazprombank.
IBS completed data processing center technical design services, produced the statement of work and the design documentation. The philosophy of building Gazprombank's data processing center is to consolidate the bank's computing facilities and data.
IBS and Gazprombank professionals have now launched the hardware and software of the data processing center pilot area, which will primarily be used for testing hardware solutions designed. At this stage, the data processing center pilot area is used for:

presenting new software products and hardware solutions for the data processing center;

comparative testing and selection of new products and hardware solutions;

compatibility testing of new products and hardware solutions;

analyzing risks of implementation of new products and hardware solutions in the data processing center;

development and testing of extra components to the data processing center;
-
trial operation of new components and hardware solutions of the data processing center.
Work is underway at Gazprombank to deploy the core data processing center based on components and hardware solutions tested in the pilot area.
