November 02, 2007 Expertek IBS has completed the project of building a set of specialized engineering systems for the server center of the diversified Lotte Plaza complex in Moscow. The project provided protection of computing facilities of the complex from external influences and hazards.
The server center hosts all IT resources supporting the operation of the new complex, which includes the shopping mall and office premises. The specialized engineering systems provide appropriate protection of the server center from unauthorized access, vandalism, fire, gas corrosion, electromagnetic waves, explosion, dust, magnetic fields and other hazards.
During the project Expertek IBS professionals equipped the server center with:
-
an autonomous climate control system,
-
a fire alert system,
-
an automatic gas fire extinguishing system,
-
the access control system,
-
the structured cabling system,
-
the power supply system (including uninterrupted power supply), and
-
a video surveillance system.
The center was also connected to external telecommunication channels and to the internal cable network.
Alexei Klopotovsky, General Director, Expertek IBS comments: "This is one of the company's first integration projects in engineering and IT infrastructure for shopping malls. We are all the more pleased given that the project was highly praised by the customer. Furthermore, Expertek IBS plans to be engaged as the main contractor for similar services and in other projects for Lotte Group".
As a reminder, Expertek IBS (previously IBS Projects Center) had been awarded the server center equipment project based on the results of a tender carried out by Lotte Group, the largest South Korean investment company, which invested in the Lotte Plaza construction. Lotte Plaza complex, located on Novinsky Boulevard, Moscow, was opened on September 02, 2007.
"We plan to leverage our experience gained in this project to develop our expertise in building infrastructure to provide for uninterrupted operation of information systems of retail businesses as we note the high market demand for such solutions and services", said Alexei Klopotovsky.
