press release
January 30, 2006. IBS has started to implement the packaged project on upgrading the system of documentation support of management in Siberia Airlines. In the project framework, it is planned to set up the electronic work flow system to support management processes in the company.
Siberia Airlines is one of the leaders in the Russian market of air transport services. It has succeeded in taking this rank due to its dynamic development and efficient management. The company never stops to rationalize its management structure using efficient IT tools. At present, Siberia Airlines has its main offices in Moscow, Novosibirsk, and Irkutsk; it also has five large regional branches, which unite almost 30 line branches in Russia and over 10 representative offices abroad.
Currently, a demand for improving the quality of the management documentation support has arisen in the Airlines. The existing system of corporate documents exchange has ceased to comply with modern business requirements and scale. A requirement has arisen to develop proper arrangements concerning the procedure of document exchange with external correspondents. Record of registered high-security forms represents a separate important issue.
The company management has made a strategic decision to apply modern managerial and information technologies in order to decrease and, if possible, eliminate risks involved in documentation support of management, as these risks can lead to significant losses, including losses in the form of penalty charges, lost profits, and direct damages resulting from careless exercising of their functions by the employees.
To select an adviser for upgrading the work flow system, Siberia Airlines has held advertised bidding with the participation of such companies as KROK, IBS, RBK-Soft, IT, TerraLink. By the results of the advertised bids, IBS became the contractor to the project, as it has a highly professional team consisting of experts in managerial consulting and specialists with many years' experience in developing automated systems of managing work flow and business processes.
"A packaged approach to solving the task of upgrading management processes is extremely important for us: IBS has expertize and recommendations both in the field of managerial consulting and in building up corporate information systems in large companies," – remarks Vyacheslav Pechurin, IT Director in Siberia Airlines.
The whole project is expected to be executed in eight months, including investigation, reengineering, formalization of business processes, and the deployment itself of automated work flow management system.
